“EXPLORING LANGUAGES AND CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATION”

On the 6th of February, the Department of Foreign Languages held the annual IV International online symposium “Exploring languages and cross-cultural communication” in cooperation with Kazan Federal University. Kostanay State Pedagogical University, Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics of Kostanay, New Sorbonne University, Paris, France, Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov (IEML), Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia, Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Kazan Federal University (Institute of International Relations), Kazan, Russia also took part in the symposium.
The purpose of the symposium is to identify and discuss current trends and prospects for the development of linguistics, the latest methods of teaching English in modern educational system and problems associated with their implementation in learning process; questions about existence, development and study of languages, their role in the modern world and conservation in the context of globalization.
The symposium worked in three sections: “Languages in focus”, “Language policy” and “Strategies in ELT”. This year, Vafeev Ravil Aisayevich, Kenzhetaeva Gulzira Kabaevna, Avazbakieva Flyura Rifkhatovna, Tulegenov Temirlan Mashatovich and Daurbekov Adam Mustafaevich took part in the symposium from our department. Students also had an opportunity to participate in symposium as listeners.
