WINNERS OF THE REGIONAL SAMBO TOURNAMENT

Last weekend, on November 3-4, in the “Bayantau” sport complex the Sambo Championship for people up to 23 years old was held. Competitions were held with the aim of selection of sportsmen for  the Republican championship and enhance their sports skills.

Sambo (short from self-defense without weapons) is an international sport, a comprehensive system of self-defense, developed in the 1930s by instructors and coaches for the training of NKVD officers. It includes the best practices of national martial arts: fisticuffs, Russian, Kazakh, Tatar, Uzbek wrestling, as well as the other types of martial arts.

PSPU students took an active part in combat sport and won honorary prizes. In the weight category of 57 kg the 1st place - Aimurat Ersultan (IIF-31), in the middle weight up to 62 kg 3rd place was taken by Amanzhol Arystan (Preparatory course), in the same weight category the winner is Mektepkhan Ardak (FKS-32). On average weight second place went to Erganat Elaman (Preparatory Course) performing in the weight category of 82 kg. In the super heavy category +100 kg, the first place was won by a student of the FKS-32 group - Amri Bakustar.
