V REPUBLICAN DEBATE TOURNAMENT

On November 23-25, 2018, in the Uralsk, on the basis of the West Kazakhstan State University named after Makhambet Utemissov, the V Republican debate tournament dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held among university students and students of secondary special educational institutions.

The tournament was attended by 34 fractions from Uralsk, Aktau, Aktobe, Atyrau, Almaty, Shymkent, Pavlodar and Kostanay. On November 23, various cultural events were organized, and on November 24 qualifying games were held, as well as 1/8, 1/4 stages of final and semi-final.

After the victory in 1/8 and 1/4 finals of debaters from Aktobe and Almaty, respectively, the students of our university Shyngys Moldasapar and Khanzada Moldabekova in the “Shygys Khan” fraction won the second place. Also, our students were awarded special certificates and letters of thanks on behalf of the rector. Thus, in the event, which was attended by debaters from different regions of the country, our students showed a high level and competitiveness.
