In honor of Languages Day the Department of the Kazakh Language and Literature in cooperation with the teachers and students of Russian Language and Literature Department, as well as Department of Foreign Languages held a round table on the topic "The eternal language of the eternal state". The round table was held in Kazakh, Russian and English.
The moderator of the event was the head of the Kazakh language and literature department, candidate of philological sciences Adilbek Dautbekovich Amrenov.
According to the history, on September 22, 1989 the law "About languages in the Kazakh SSR" was adopted. The Kazakh language received the status of the state language of the country. On January 28, 1993, this status was established in the new Constitution.
American student Den Don, who arrived at the Faculty of Philology and History for Academic Mobility, delivered a speech in English and focused on the specifics of the language problem in the United States. It was also noted that the language policy in our country is applied correctly. It is necessary to pay attention to the issue of raising the status of the state language.
The second-year student of the Russian language and literature department Alena Yatsyk spoke about the need to expand the scope of the Kazakh language, popularize the status and significance of the state language, raise the level of knowledge among representatives of other nationalities, and increase their interest in learning Kazakh language.
Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages Ravil Azaevich Vafeev spoke about the language situation of people living in the Bayan-Kereku region, and importance of the trilingual language.
Within the framework of the round table, the issues of the language situation, the role and significance of the state language in society, bilingualism, and poly -lingualism were raised. The participants unanimously supported the idea that: "the state language is the language uniting all people of Kazakhstan".
