Literary evening dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Sultanmakhmut Toraygyrov

On 25^th of October in the Scientific Library named after E Bekmakhanov hosted a literary evening “Жасында жарқ еткен ақын”, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of a prominent figure of the first half of the 20th century, poet-writer and democrat Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov. Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov is an outstanding poet of Kazakhstan. He lived only 27 years, but despite this he managed to leave a large creative legacy. The works of the poet occupied an honorable place in the history of national culture and literature. The event was accompanied by a slide presentation and a video about the life and work of the poet. The literary party was attended by students of the Faculty of Natural Science, Kazakh language and literature. Students performed poems of the poet: «Шәкіртойы», «Оқып жүрген жастарға» «Шығамын тірі болсам адам болып», «Алаш ұраны», «Сұлтанмахмұтка арнау». At the literary evening, the songs «Туған жер», Халық әні «Балапан», «Көзімнің мөлдір-ай» were performed by Bolakpaeva A., Bolat Arailym and Dosulan Bati.

 Creativity of the poet full of a passionate dream of a free society. His literary heritage, aspiring to the future, brings the ideas of humanity, unselfish love for the Motherland.

 The teacher of the university, doctor of philological sciences, professor of the Pavlodar State Pedagogical University of the Kazakh language and literature department S.N.Sutzhanov spoke at the evening.

 There was also a book exhibition «Халқының дара туған перзенті» where books and periodicals about the life and work of the poet were presented.
