20.08.2018
In July 2018, an expedition consisted of the research staff of the Margulan Center of the Pavlodar State Pedagogical University and members of "Zhasyl El" archaeological detachment carried out archaeological research on the monuments of Bayanaul region: Sak burial mounds Toraigyr, the valley of the stone tombs Kempirtas and the tract Konyr Aulie at the foot of the cave.
An expedition explored a mound with a stone embankment and a burial of the early Iron Age near Toraigyr lake. At the Kempirtas burial ground, work on study of stone tombs of the Bronze Age, abandoned by the ancient metallurgists and herders of Bayanaul was continued.
This year, a new direction of work was the search for archeological monuments in the tract Konyr Aulie at the foot of the sacred cave. Members of "Zhasyl El" archaeological detachment found numerous evidences of people using the valley from antiquity to our days.
Studies of the famous cave Konyr Aulie using the methods of natural sciences were continued. Samples of water from the arch and walls of the cave, from the "kazan" - for analysis in the laboratory of the Center for Biocenology of PSPU were taken.
Researches will allow us to take a fresh look at the history of Bayanaul region and expand existing knowledge about the spiritual shrines of ancient hunters and pastoralists in the future.
