Archaeological excavations on Auliekol

In August 2018, an expedition consisted of the Margulan Center’s research staff of the Pavlodar State Pedagogical University and members of "Zhasyl El" archaeological detachment carried out research work on the medieval archaeological complex Auliekol near the Karazhar village Ekibastuz rural district of Pavlodar region, which is one of sacred monuments of republican significance.
The archaeological complex of Auliekol belongs to the XIV-XV centuries and represents the remnants of the nomadic horde rate. The complex consists of residues of residential buildings, irrigation system and necropolis dating back to the Middle Ages.
Mausoleums of the archaeological complex Auliekol were erected from burnt bricks, had rectangular shape and crowned with domes covered with blue glaze. In terms of their parameters, these tombstones are the most eastern Golden Horde monuments in Kazakhstan.
In the result of works, the territory of archaeological complex was cleared and landscaped, topographical studies and aerial photography were carried out.
