AMONG THE BEST IN THE RATING OF REPUBLIC

The National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan summed up the results of the third stage of the rating of educational programs of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan.
This year, in the framework of the rating, 92 specialties were selected, more than 2 thousand educational programs were evaluated. About 700 experts from different parts of Kazakhstan were involved in the selection process.
"The main criteria for the selection was the overall percentage of employment of university graduates and the level of average wages," said Olzhas Ordabayev, Deputy Chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken”.
The average percentage of employment in 92 specialties in republic was 67.4%, the lowest of them - 41%, refers to the specialty "Customs".
“North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybayev, Narkhoz, Rudniy Industrial University, Almaty University of Management, Kazakh-British Technical University, West Kazakhstan Innovative-Technological University and Pavlodar State Pedagogical University occupy leading positions in employment among the universities of the republic,” noted O. Ordabaev. It should be noted, that according to the results of 2018, 97.7% of PSPU graduates were employed.
An anonymous survey was conducted among the 8,800 university graduates, the results of which revealed that 35.4% of graduates do not work by profession. It includes the humanities, economics and business - 40.24%, engineering sciences and technology - 41.97%, law - 43.73%, sector of services - 43.42%, and 51.6% of agricultural specialists changed their activities’ fields.
As the Deputy Chairman of the NCE of RK "Atameken" noted, this rating is held annually, and its results are taken into account during the executing the state educational order. Also, by decision of the National Chamber, it is planned to introduce new educational programs for higher education institutions.
