THE STRATEGY OF CREATING CENTERS OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE WAS DISCUSSED IN ASTANA

Vice-Rector for Research at Margulan University Bauyrzhan Yesengeldin and Director of the Center for Pedagogical Research Almagul Asainova took part in the strategic session «Academic Excellence in Kazakhstan: discussion of the concept of the initiative to create centers of academic excellence», organized by the National Center for the Development of Higher Education in Astana.

The event, organized by Astana IT University, was attended by Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, representatives of the Project Office of the Center for the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility, more than 50 heads of regional universities and experts in the field of higher education.

During the session, the goals, objectives, strategies and tactics of implementing initiatives to create Centers of Academic Excellence at universities were discussed.

Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek noted the need to comply with 5 principles for the creation of centers of academic excellence: realism, sustainability, consideration of stakeholders, applied science, usefulness.

Following the results of the strategic session, a memorandum will be prepared with specific measures and tasks to achieve high parameters of academic excellence in the field of higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the main directions for the development of centers of academic excellence based on the interests of stakeholders.
