Dual Education System in the Educational Program

6B01210 – “Pedagogy of Preschool Education and Training”

 

Since the 2021–2022 academic year, a dual education system has been introduced in the educational process for the program 6B01210 – “Pedagogy of Preschool Education and Training.” Based on this system, groups with instruction in Kazakh and Russian have been opened at Technical and Postgraduate Education and Higher Professional Education Currently, more than 121 students are enrolled in the dual education system within this program.

Dual education is a form of professional training that combines academic study in an educational institution with mandatory periods of practical training and professional internships in an organization, with provision of workplaces and compensation for students. Equal responsibility is shared among the enterprise (organization), the educational institution, and the student (Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan).

The implementation of the dual education system is aimed at preparing pedagogical specialists by combining university-based learning with practical training and professional internships in educational organizations equipped with the necessary resources, ensuring equal responsibility of the university, the educational organization, and the student.

The objectives of implementing dual education include: improving the professional training of future teachers, aligning graduate qualifications with employer requirements, strengthening the connection between theory and practice, integrating education with the broader educational system, and developing social partnerships.

The educational process with elements of dual education includes theoretical study, practical training, and professional internships. During the study of courses, 40% of the material is mastered during practical training, while 60% is studied at the university.

Under the dual education agreement, the educational organization assigns a mentor to the student to supervise their practical training and professional internship.
